Dolomedes tenebrosus Sac

Buddy of mine found one of these in his basement. Family wanted it gone (as in past tense). I took it in because I did not want it crushed. This was about 45 days ago. I just noticed it dropped an egg sac.what are the chances it’s fertile and how hard is it to separate the sac from the mom. I don’t want them escaping the home cage after hatching.

I just had mine hatch, i just put her in a 2 liter jar with pantyhose and rubber band. Right now the babies are in a big nursery web, with mom standing guard. i got her when she had the sac already in her teeth so idk how long it takes. This is my first time too so idk other than that

Interesting! May I ask out of curiosity what the plan is for all those slings?

Ill release most of them in a bush by a lakeshore, Thats where they are found in this city. Ill keep ~5 and try to raise them. Trying to get my hands on some flour beetles, friend works at a bakery
