Hey now, don't go claiming all the good spiders for Canada.;) D.tenebrosus is native to much of North America, and can be collected on the undersides of docks/ piers, and on logs partially submerged in rivers. You may have to get wet to catch one of these. They are cool though, aren't they? :)

Every time I go bugging, I try to find one of these.

Every day I work, I see at least three pictures of these spiders and people claim thier yard is 'infested' with them.

However, I can't offer to buy them off them (considered a tip) or ask their address (considered creepy).

So I'm stuck in a perpetual tease.

I'd rather be stuck in a stripclub.

Dolomedes

I went out Wed night along a local trail and found these 3 Dolomedes in about 1/2 hour.

Anyone that would like 1 or more of these, let me know. I am willing to collect them for $ or trade. These 3 are already spoken for.

Two females, 1 male. Not sure of the species. One looks different from the others.

I kept one of these this spring for a couple months in a KK with a piece of bark to perch on. Voracious eater.

I find these on the bark of hardwood trees at night along a trail that is fairly close to a small stream. Look for the glittering eyeballs on the tree trunk in your flashlight beam.
