does anyone keep polypterus ornatapinnis?

Picked up two of these little devils in london last week for 45 bucks each and was just wondering if anyone else keeps them? It's an african species i believe growing up to two feet. Anyone out there know a growth rate? Right now mine are in a 30 gal with 4 synodontis catfish a porthole catfish and a gourami. Here's some pics.

polypterus species are great...what is their size currently and you do know they will need a larger tank eventually right?

yeah dude this species is supposed to be a larger one (24inches in wild). I have both in my 30 gallon right now with some other fish and both are pretty small still. Probably 5 inches. Amazing animal tho, they use their pectoral fins to walk on land and can breathe atmospheric air.

Yeah, those look pretty awsome. My local exotics store had one for $135US, so even with the conversion factors, I still think you got a good deal. I'm not entirly sure how big they get but I'd be pretty sure they get up there.

yeah man i went into a pet store on the cheap side of london and they had about 30 in an aquarium for 44.99 and me being the animal obsessed and easily mesmerized person I am drooled in anticipation while I waited for like 8 other people to get fish. Here's some better pictures of the aquarium for size comparison....notice the horrible hard water stains that end up everywhere
