Hi, all! I'm super excited because I'm going on vacation in three days, and I'm planning on bringing my centipede! But, I really have no idea what to pack for her, as this is my first vacation with a centipede. I know I'll have to bring food and things like that, but I was wondering if anyone could write out a centipede packing list for me.

Thanks,
Silverfishmom

Don’t forget an escape proof container. 🫙😃🪄🎪 all jokes aside. I don’t know if you’d set it up any differently for travel. We’re just be more careful carrying it. My parents didn’t take me on vacation this year.🙁

First of all, I think this is a terrible idea
I would never take a centipede anywhere It doesn't need to go
When transporting Polymorpha when I was younger we would put them into tubs packed with paper towels and spagnum moss to avoid them getting beat up. (depends how far you're going) If they have room to slide around they sometimes can break a segment off a leg.
Once arrived the centipede should be housed back into its original tub if possible.
Here goes the "list"
1. Your Centipede
2. Moss packed tub for centipede
3. Original setup for the the centipede
4. Roaches or Crickets or whatever the poor thing eats
5. Quiet spot for it to figure life out after travel
Really this is just asking for problems, but I understand that it can be really hard to get somebody to look after leggy things while you're gone.
If you don't have to take it, please don't. I promise you that it would much rather be left alone.

How many weeks can a they go without refilling the water dish? I only worry about slings drying out but I only have Ts . My parents didn’t take me on vacation this year. So I didn’t have to worry about it. But yea this is a perfect list !🏆

Depends on the size and species, and the environment that it is kept in. A little pedeling in a tropical setup won't dry out until the enclosure does, a desert pedeling like S. heros will dry out much quicker. For the desert species I give 1 1/2 weeks till death with pedelings and perhaps up to 3 weeks till death with an adult. Once again, a tropical species will only die once the enclosure dries out. And don't forget where you live also will make a difference in this, just take away from this that centipedes dry out quick and a week is as far as I would go.
