Are many of you familiar with a series of short documentaries produced by the BBC called 'Animal Rites'? They are narrated by Tom Baker and each one focuses on a particular type of animal with such titles as 'Birds', 'Cats' etc. They seem to use a lot of stock footage but it is very well shot and nicely edited. A lot of the emphasis seems to be on human myths and superstitions surrounding the animals.
Here in Australia, they are broadcast on the ABC late at night every now and then. Unfortunately, they are never listed in the television guide and are sometimes shown in between late night movies. Well a few nights ago, there was an episode on rats which was very good. They showed footage of a large number of rats at an ancient temple eating food that was provided by human hands. They also covered the black plague in the doco and the story of the pied piper. I don't suppose that anyone here managed to record a copy of this episode?
