You don't specify where you are or what your normal room temperature is, but they generally don't need heat lamps unless it is real cold. Heat lamps can sometimes do more harm than good.
I don't agress with heat lamps If I have to use heating appliences then I use heat pads. Heat limps in my opinions are more suited to reptiles. Tarantulas are nocturnal predators and don't like light. If I was a T I wouldn't take kindly to having a lamp shon in my face.
Living as I do in the North of England, all my invertebrates have small heat mats on one end wall of their tanks. However, that's because our room temperature is generally around 20C or less. When the ambient temperature is too low my tarantulas will hug the wall by the heat mat. When it (rarely) gets too high they retreat to their burrows and shelters.
Invest in a good thermometer. You can find reasonably accurate ones for a few pounds/dollars. I share one between all my tanks, moving it every few weeks. Some of the Ts go to great pains to bury it, some like to sit on it and "own" it.
G.rosea will be comfortable at room temperature, unless you live somewhere cold and grey like me. A slightly lower than optimal temperature won't kill the tarantula, just slow it's growth.
