Do Hissing Roaches breed fast? Are they easy to breed like Blatta Lateralis? And if yes to both of these questions, what size are the babies? I am thinking of maybe breeding these later on down the road when I have more T's and bigger ones. If not, then what is a big, fast, and easy to breed roach besides Blatta Lateralis?

Mine popped the day after I got them so I'm not sure on the speed however the nymphs were around .75" long and she had around 50 of them.

They breed a lot faster than what I expected. I started with 6 breeding pairs in Sept, and now I have 300 or so. I just feed them carrots, cat food, and oranges, and they are kept them between 75-80F. I think the babies are a little under 1/2" when they are born.

Yes they breed and grow VERY fast. But they also climb ANYTHING.
You can try B. dubia they get large, breed quickly and are well liked by many larger T's.

Yeah, considering how big the hissing babies are at birth,I think I am better off not dealing with them. I think I will try dubia instead. I want to have more than one food source for my T's. I have Blatta Lateralis already (8 starters). I was reading a thread last night and think I might try catching some grasshoppers to try and breed. But I will spend time from now til spring to learn what kind are in Ohio and which kind don't get really big and are going to be a threat to my T's.

They do not breed or grow as fast as other commonly used feeders, such as dubia or discoids as an example. if yo uwant something big Blaberus fusca breed fast or Blaberus colosseus.

Right. I got 3 females and 1 male and I don't know how many I have now. When the Lats and the Dubia weren't producing these guys were still going like crazy. They can be a pain too to keep in the tanks. I finally got the problem fixed with tape and Vaseline and a water tight seal. Somehow my nymphs were making it past the Vaseline on the old container and hiding out in the lip.
