I don't really know what to make of this.
But I certainly hope you didn't drop that spider in an aquarium.:embarrassed:

? wheres the water!
It appears that the spider is completely submerged in the water or, given the first picture, it may just be photoshopped (the water bubbles in the first appear to extend below the water line).

Although, I'm not sure why anyone would put a desert tarantula (even if the setae around the booklungs would form a protective "bubble") in an aquarium full of water.

Was the water treated with certain chemicals?

Looks photoshopped to me :p

If it was real you would probably see the T's hairs filled with bubbles (since air sticks in the furs so the T can breathe).

hehe,
Nice try with the underwater shot ;)

Here is a little shot from a while back, mind you, thats not 'shopped'...thats just how my funky desklamp made it come out as *shrugs*

I dont even think he photoshopped that...its just a nice angle which makes the droplets of water on the side of th etank seem like its air bubbles.
Thats what i think anyways :D

Nice T by the way :)

I would think the same thing. Anyone ever try to submerge exuvias? I have just for fun and air sticks to them real good when under water.

Diving Explanation

Hey guys!!!!

There is no Photoshop, nor air bbubles involved here, what I did was just put a little kreter keeper within one of my 10 gallon acuarium full of water, got it? then I added a water filter to make real air bubbles.

I agree with everyone else. Those pics don't look underwater, Becca is right. I've had lots of fish in my day and never said air bubbles sticking to the glass and not floating to the surface, its air.

But is he right, can a species actually swim??? and not sink to the bottom like this spider supposedly has, but likely hasn't.

Then take a picture of the 10 gallon aquarium with the spider inside the kritter keeper thats full of water! I doubt you will do it cause the picture is just not real.

i've been told that Cameroon Red (H. gigas) can actually swim. never tested it though (because i don't have one, and because i'm not quite THAT curious).

there is your proof..

the kritter keeper is not full of water.. what hes saying is he has done something like what I have linked to here but with a kritter keeper instead of another tank

See he didn't say he filled the kritter keeper with water :). Go see Ronj's reply he still misunderstood. :D

ParabuthusKing, read the explanation, that's not how it was done. And as far as wasting space, yes, I'm sure arachnoboards is running out of 1s and 0s.

It was the play on words and the insinuation that this T was diving to the bottom. The second post from Marcelo was not very clear, and I guess I am still confused on how this was set up. :? The link to the the tank inside a tank is a start, but who would go to all that trouble not to share pictures of the entire set up? Can T's "dive" to the bottom, or do they simply kinda skim across the top?
