I'm writing a magazine article at the moment and I need a photo of these 2 spiders, Dinopis aka the netcaster aka Ogre-faced spider and Mastophora aka the Bolas spider (actually, any Bolas spider will do)

If anyone has a photo they can let me use in the article I'd very much appreciate it and obviously you would get credited in the publication as the photographer.

Help!

Hi Martin,

several things: the genus has be re-named to "Deinopis" again, "Dinopis" is obsolete.

How fast do you need pics? I haven´t got any species of this genus here right now, but i´m working at it... ;)

If you´re in a hurry, try this link:

Maybe it´s an idea to get in touch with El Johanno, nice pics for sure.....

Take care.

Greetings,

Stefan

P.S. Regarding the Mastophora´s: i highly doubt, that you´ll be able to find a keeper of those, as they´re very prey-specialized, due to their hunting tactic.
Perhaps you try to establish contact to some guys in which general location this spiders are native....

Hi again,

as mentioned, fastest supplier should be El Johano...

End of this week? I´m definitely out of this....

Nevertheless, i know of some german guys that keep a Deinopis sepc. from Kenya, if you shouldn´t be successfull with El Johano, drop me a line via mail and i´ll forward you their contact details. However, the picture qualitiy of Johans pics won´t be matched by those guys...

Greetings,

Stefan

Actually, there should be some native species around your neighborhood.

None in mine, however :(

Hello Evil Cheshire,

That's the story but no one I know has seen one around these parts. And when i did an internet search I could not find what species can be found here in Georgia. Do you know?:? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
