Ok,I have a couple of these guys that are from a recent Chile import and I am totally lost. They were brought in as G.rosea, and are NOT.I admit to not being very knowledgeable when it comes to smaller terrestrial sp,but I know some of you eat, sleep, and breathe these things...Whatever this thing is,I LOVE it.Great feeder, snappy attitude at times, and amazing looking. Here is a picture of a 3.5ish inch female. Any thoughts/ideas? Any help/insight is appreciated,I want to be CERTAIN what this girl is...Thanks!..I am going to add,I DID run a search ;) and the information I found was confusing, and the pictures all looked alike to me.

I was sold a E.trunculentus which I was told was actually a P.parvula I believe the difference is that parvula have a green tint to the carapace and E.trunculentus is more golden. Yours looks a lot more golden than mine, But mine looks like it hasn't molted for a fair while... I'm not 100% on what the differences are though as there isn't much info out there but that's all the stuff I could gather.

I think I got most of my info from a pretty old thread on here about P.parvula (not sure what sub forum though). But either way they are great T.

Kinda similar to the morph between E.pulcheramaklassi (green/ blue femur) which kinda makes me lean towards them being same specie with a slight colour variation, but this is just my opinion no facts stated here lol.

Hopefully this thread will help me and you both get some answers lol :)

Edit: for a reference here's a pic of my 'P.parvula' as you can see the colourings are considerably duller than your T but the green colouring is evident.

Am not entirely sure you can identify by visual color variations.
example one of my P.parvula postmolt 3 weeks

mature male postmolt 4 months

I Am more incline proper identification difference between species by characteristics and anatomical descriptions.

I don't own E.truculentus to compare.

Anastasia.

I am starting to get the feeling that I will never quite know what this thing really is.Maybe just waiting for a molt and comparing spermetheaca is my best bet...

Lol well... 3 completely different looking Ts.

The reason I was siding with the colour morphs was as Brett said I seen a lot of pictures of either T being labeled P.parvula/E.trunculentus which made me think maybe it's just some confusion between the genus', correct me if I'm wrong I thought 'Euthalus' was an inbetween type genus awaiting on labelling under a true genus as I believe some of the Brachy genus were once Euthalus sp?

Confused is an understatement haha
