Has anyone tried keeping sesarma bidens in a terrarium or palludarium set-up? Because it's come to my attention lately how many people keep their crabs in freshwater aquariums, but these crabs really do well in a terrarium set-up. Anyone out there with some opinions?

Not familliar with those, but I'd suspect they're kind of like fiddler crabs, in that many people keep them fully aquatic when they actually live a semi-aquatic lifestyle in the wild.

I do have two huge Cardisoma guanhumi I keep in a terrestrial setup. About 6-8" of a sand-peat mix with a large water bowl.

As far as where to post this, my vote is to change the name of the insect forum to "Insects and other Invertebrates" so we could post about crustaceans, molusks etc. without creating a new forum. That would be up to the moderators, however.

What I did with my crabs was keep them in a tank with wet sand for substrate and a lot of rocks and plants. I put a fish bowl on a tilt in the tank with some plants growing out of it for the crabs to go in, but they spent more time running up the rocks and driftwood and nibbling spider plants than in the water. These guys would love a tree frog or water dragon set-up.
