Did my rhino roach bite me?

I have one particulary nervous rhino roach. I was holding it the other day and... OUCH! I was wondering if it bit me or if it just sqeezed my finger with its legs. No blood and it didn't really hurt too bad, I was just startled. Are they capable of biting? Little <self edit>.

Also, can I mix sizes in one enclosure? I have a couple that are about 15-20 mm and one that is around 35 and a couple that are about 40 mm. Currently the two smaller ones are together and the three larger ones are together. If possible, I'd like to keep them all together in one big showcase. Is this safe or will the smaller ones become an expensive dinner?

Well just to clarify a bit... It was crawling on my hand and it stopped and did SOMETHING on purpose. It wasn't an accident. So it either bit me or squeezed me on purpose. That is why I am wondering if they can bite.

hello iguanamam, i got same feeling with u b4, that feel like bite but never painful...and i think ar ar not bite there, cos i hv been withness for the chewing of a 1 cm diameter tree brunch, so i think they ar able to bite even make u pain, but it didnt...just what i think there..

if your cage were good size, i think group housing will do fine...even some nymphs were living with adults now, sounds doing well.

I was once bitten at a show when I was showing an adult female to a group of children, telling them how friendly they were and that they never bites. :)
Talk about a surprise.

Best wishes
