What other (available in U.S. breeder community) millipedes require sand?
Looking for species that would breed, unlike orthoporus ornatus.

If you mean a desert setup than there is nothing else at the least as far as I know and to the best of my knowledge. Why sand though even ornatus don't really need it, you can do a temperate setup with something like narceus or chicobolus.

Just have an idea for a terrarium with sand on top, but ornatus don’t breed and I couldn’t keep buying them, so looking for a different species.

You could do chicoblolus, scarlets,or bumble bees and just not put too much sand on part of the surface.

Thank you! Still looking to know if there's species that would thrive in a terrarium originally set up for Orthoporus Ornatus (so with a lot of mixed in sand)

Orthoporus texicolens (similar body structure to ornatus but with beautiful reddish banding) is occasionally available through biological supply companies. Narceus gordanus is a temperate species, but they do like a limited amount of sand in their set up.

The orthoporus texicolens are a no go because they havent been bred and the gordanus are the same as the species I already mentioned they'll do fine with sand but I wouldn't keep them in a setup meant for orthoporus.

Ah sorry. Missed that the OP wanted to start up a breeder. You are correct, no Orthoporus breed in captivity. Apologies, I misunderstood.
