a mate of mine has "desert crabs" for sale, they look alot like the "freshwater crabs" found in petstores. He says they are found in dry creek beds in arid aust and never go near brackish water. As far as i know all land crabs do need to go to brackish or marine to breed. Not saying hes lying but he just buys off collectors and they are well know for not knowing what they are collecting. Any leads?

Im not sure of the species, but not all Land Crabs need to go near brackish or seawater to breed, and for the young to survive, two species I know that reproduce in freshwater are Geosesarma sp Vampire and Cryptopotamon anacoluthon, im sure theres plenty of others as well.
