Hey so I noticed my obt curled up and barely moving like this. Idk if it’s premolt or a death curl. I hydrated his little enclosure yesterday and today it was all foggy in there and it still didn’t work. Can anyone give me a answer?

That's not a death curl. The first pic appears it is stressed. When a tarantula covers it's carapace with it's legs it is usually due to some form of stress. I have one tarantula, A. geniculata that does this only when I open the enclosure for maintenance. He stresses from feeling threaten and if it persist it ends in a lot of kicking.

Could be your enclosure. Post pics of your entire enclosure.

Yeah idk he was doing fine for the first two weeks. It’s still the same enclosure from when I got him from the pet store because he’s still too small to rehome. He ate the first two weeks in that enclosure when I got him but after last week he just stopped eating and I found him like this yesterday.

Usually when you get a T and house it for the first time it can take time for it to settle, which could be why it gets stressed. In times like this the best advice is to make sure your husbandry is right and to wait and let it settle in.

I’d change your setup to a terrestrial setup, deep sub, OBT’s are fossorial not aboreal. That enclosure needs a LOT more sub. Sub should be dry and add a water dish.

Yeah that’s what I did at first when I got him and I put the substrate halfway but he would always climb to the top of the cup n chill there and I read on google that they’re semi arboreals when they’re young that’s why I added the bark there. Also I do have a water dish just behind the bark I put in there. Idk I never saw him dig or anything compared to the other obt’s they had there.

Use Arachnoboards for the source of your info. Lots of knowlegable people and breeders on here and can learn a lot from. Arachnoboards is the best source for learning about different Ts and their care. If you’re gonna get info about care get it from Arachnoboards not google. People post all kind of rubbish on Google and really bad care guides which kill your T. Pet shop “advice” is like giving your T cancer.

Other good sources are Tom’s big spiders (Tom Moran) on YouTube or Dave’s little beasties channel. Forget the rest.

Maybe I’m blind… is that a mature male?

Just saw this picture, doesn’t look like a mm here lol.

But I don’t see any ventilation in that container either
