I have had four of these for about a year. They are really cool but I find them very high maintenance and even expensive if you don't grow your own flies. Anyway, I ended up selling whole set up with the frogs.

Very cool to see them though.

I dream of the day I'll be able to get to built an amazing huge naturalistic vivarium with either these guys, which are dendrobates azureus, or else dendrobates leucomelas. Right now with kids i just don't have the time or money for them. I'll stick with low maintenance pets like snakes and tarantulas.

Actually are there any cheap low maintenance frogs that still look cool?

The green and black (D. auratus), azureus (D. tinctorious), and cobalts (D. tinctorious) are all pretty cheap $35.00 ea. The cage can be fairly spartan but most your costs will be getting the cage set up correctly. If you do that right it will save you headache down the road.
