Hey I was given a dark fishing spider female that was given to me as a wolf. I was wondering how people replicate a pond? Like do you need a filter or would a bio active enclosure with a good size water dish that I put a fish or 2 every so often. The container it’s in was only so I could bring it home. Would love to know how other keep them. Also does it look gravid?

Given to you as a wolf? So, just to be clear, you were given a spider that was supposed to be a wolf spider but is in fact a dark fishing spider?

they will eat things other then fish. Like crickets, and other insects that might be in their habitat. So you can atleast give that.

how intense you are ready to go with the enclosure depends on you. If you want to see the fishing in action, then you need to consider the fishes need. If you want the fish to live long or just be feeders.

anything with water will require extra needs and fish do need maintenance at some point. Go with easy fish like guppies.

it can be an opportunity to make a nice enclosure.

if i would have a big body of water, i would definitely want a small filter to make sure things are fresh and clean. It does not need to be excessive. It depends on the volume of water.

what are you willing/want to do. Effort and maintenance considered.

one part of the enclosure will be terrestrial.

I find shrimp easier than fish. And they clean up a bit.

Filter for the go if you make it paludarium style.

What a terrible vendor. Those two are not the same species or family.

You can replicate a pond if you want, however that is a lot of work. They will be okay with an appropriately designed terrestrial habitat.

I often find D. tenebrosus far away from water sources. They are the least aquatic of the "fishing spiders."

Yeah they basically hunt same stuff as wolf spiders when not aquatic. do they live a long enough time for a partially aquatic tank? I assume it’s female.
It would be interesting to see a set up habitat like this. Very bad vendor...

Whether or not it's worth a fancy setup depends on you. Though to be fair you could replace it each time they expire.
