Dancing Rosie

My girl has molted for the first time on june 14 th since she's been in my care. She is absolutely gorgeous! She's also totally weird! She has been ''dancing'' while eating since that time!!! Has anyone witnessed that kind of behavior with spiders or was she simply happy to eat?

Most t's do a little dance after they nab there prey. My t's do it with crickets but not roaches for some reason

So far she's the only one doing it! Granted I only have 8 T's and most have webbed their entire enclosure so I don't really get to see them eat.

It's very funny to watch! See was spinning round and round . I was surprised she didn't get dizzy!

My rosie does the little "cricket dance" too! Its great fun to watch, I spent about 45 minutes once standing there and staring at her!

They are weaving a round mat of webbing that they put their food in - it seems with mine that once she's dispatched the first few she grabs, she puts them in that mat, so she can go grab the other few that she sees! She plops the first mouthful down in the middle and retreives more, then continues her dance. Once she has them all she picks them up to eat. Even if she gets them all in one go she still does this, putting them down, the just picking them back up.

Leaves round mats of webbing around her enclosure. Lots of fun to watch her dancing, and her little spinnerets going as she moves. It is an entertaining behavior to watch, and especially fun since most of the rest of the time she is just a furry pet rock, so its always entertaining to watch her moving around at all!

Idk if arboreals do it or jsut terestrials. My smithi and rosea both did it witht he crickets but not with the roaches which sucks cuz all i feed now is raoches . I just love ho tey bob back and forth and spin around. So cute lol
