I am planning on getting a few more arachnids in 2 months. I came across Damarchus sp. for sale but I couldn’t find much on them online. Can anyone help me? I want to know things like substrate, diet, size, venom, and temperament.
Just searched them up, they look very nice and their care should match pretty much exactly what I put in this guide http://arachnoboards.com/threads/a-quick-guide-to-keeping-trapdoors.312794/
Trapdoors in general, despite their menacing appearance, are not usually harmful. However, like with any spider, precaution is always necessary. Even without potent venom, the idea of having one's fingers skewered by curved fangs isn't particularly pleasant. They look alot like Arbanitis and Cataxia sp. from Australia which I keep alot of, and if there's any similarities between them I'd say they are a mild venom, defensive species that can probably take a bit of handling here and there between rehouses, but would do better left alone. Hope this helps some!
