Don't think I've seen this sp. listed before....probably because alphebetical lists usually have me scrolling down past Acanthoscurria and Aphonopelma until I hit Avics, LOL. Too bad African genera like Ami and Augacephalus get mixed in there with the hair-kickers, so they go unnoticed.
I saw someone post a picture of their adults on here once, and I was hooked.. I looked all over for them and couldn't find any for sale, and then suddenly they appeared! lol
I couldn't let them go, obviously!
I usually scroll through the A's down to the Avics too lol so who knows, I may have missed these guys a time or two... but, I don't think so - I'd notice 'mozambique' I think (yay for African fetishes LOL)
Hopefully between us we'll get some breeding pairs squared away! I probably should have picked up another one, but I really do need to stop spending money on Ts for now haha
I know.. but I did good, not getting any C. darlingi or ordering from that pricelist! lol
Wait.. I did.. good... NOT ordering Ts? that just doesn't sound right haha
Yeah, we'll definitely have to plan out some breeding loans in the future... though I would, of course, love it if I ended up with a breeding pair with these two!
Nice lil suckers, aren't they? I recently picked up 3 of these guys from AB member Presurcukr. They adapted very quickly to their new vials and within 24 hours had dug little tunnels and set up shop. Right now they look like fat ticks as even the smallest B. dubia is a hefty meal for something that small.
These guys have an entire island each... I only have 4x4" containers lol. One of them has made a little corner spot their own, the second one was unseen - probably hiding in the moss.
I usually use flightless fruit flies, but I also discovered small mealworms that work quite well for some of the tougher little guys. We'll see what these two can handle!
