I am still trying to navigate the ā€œcatalogueā€, and how it works.

is it really new, or just placed where it should be?

It is a new species described from specimens found in the British Museum that were collected in the 1930s. Using the WSC, navigate to the species detail page and you will see a log at the bottom that says "New species inserted." You can also determine that it is a new species by the full scientific name, Cyrtopholis montserrat Sherwood, Gabriel, Questel, Rollard & Leguin, 2024. The people who originally described and published the species description are shown after the specific epithet then the year the species description was originally published. A species that has been transferred to or from another genus would have the author(s) and year enclosed in parentheses.
