Hi guys

If you had a choice between the Cyriopagopus Schioedtei (Mylasian Earth tiger) and Chilobrachys Fimbriatus (Indian Violet) what would you choose?? The Price is about the same so I dont really care about that... and I cant take 2... I ordered A LOT already this week....

I have read the other thread that the C Fimbriatus is very agressive... is the C Scioedtei the same??

Thanx for the help

Both are great species. Fimbriatus is out in the open regularly and more aggressive. Schioedtei gets to be much larger, but is more secretive and nocturnal. It'll run like a race car when it's scared, but I've never had mine stand up and hold their ground.

I think the C. schioedtei is one of the most beautiful and impressive t's out there....fimbriatus is very nice as well, but I don't think it looks nearly as nice by direct comparison. The Cyriopagopus is arboreal and when I have put more time in with speedy arboreals, I may have to pick one up in the future. The start is near, I should be getting a pair of P. cam's in the next week or so.

Which, for me, is the reason I like the fimbriatus: They stand their ground and seldomly go running. Personally I think it makes dealing with them easier although my male will actually charge to the edge of the enclosure if he has a -really- bad day :D

I think I will go for the Schioedtei then... but like we said on the other post do less shotgun shootin...

Personally, I would go for the C. fimbriatus. With C. schiodtei, you're looking at just another arboreal that doesn't do much except hide. I find C. fimbriatus to be a much more interesting spider, what with the insane amounts of webbing and such. They're both beautiful, and from what I have heard, both of them are pet webs, so just figure out if you prefer a heavy webbing terrestrial, or a large arboreal.

Both of these species are on my mind as well. I like your taste tlover! I will probably end up with both…I think you should get C. Schioedtei first. They look real tough where the C. Fimbriatus is more beautiful. Both sound like really interesting spiders but in unique ways.

I have a C. Fimbriatus and it's a great species.
Mine has a burrow with multiple tunnels which makes it fun to watch during feedings.
You really don't need a lot of sustrate or a hide as they will fill every inch of their enclosure with
webbing. I keep my spider room at a consistent 75 -80 and it seems to be fine for her.
I've never had her show any aggression to me but she does have a habit of charging up to the top
Of her cage while doing maintenance. She doesn't like her webbing broken and isn't shy about expressing this to me. :)

Great choice. My C. fimbriatus are all very bold choosing to sit out in the open and wait for a meal. Even as slings they were aggressive feeders. Amazing web tunnels. Good advice above, I'll add to leave plenty of space between the lid and the substrate. They will get on your last nerve constantly webbing the top shut.

I have a cool video of one of them feeding. I realize it's not the best quality and please don't kill me because it's not in landscape mode. Still fun to watch.
