On one of his Earth Tiger tours, Mark Pennell reported that:

"All Thorellis I have found have been living arboreally"

They certainly move like an arboreal tarantula - very similar to Psalmopoeus - we will see how this one lives when it gets a bit bigger ;)

How long for these to mature, if fed well and kept warm?

Still one of my absolute favourites :)

I'm on the lookout for some sub-adults and adults so I can start breeding these - apparently the courtship is simple and generally goes well.
I'll have to get hold of LaRiz, I know he's bred these successfully in the past. :)

re

yeah i just got myself a pretty healthy adult female about 2 days ago, been wanting one for quite some time now, was not easy to locate, i'm expecting a mature male soon also that me and another will be doing a 50/50, should be fun! i've read their not hard to get to hook up but you need to keep a very close eye on them, so far my female has been an eating machine today she ate another adult roach which would make it her 4th in 2 days lol, currently she is in the open stalking another roach that has itself crammed between the wood and the glass, shes patiently waiting for it to come out or move heh, yeah they look so aboreal its crazy, mine has both been using a burrow and climbing things in the tank, she has made a web retreat behind the wood over the burrow kinda wierd i don't think she prefers the burrow--Jeff
