Hey Everyone,
I thought you might want to check out these cool guys. I've had this male and female WC pair for almost a year now, but unfortunatley have not been able to get any offspring. Anyways, super cool looking members of the family Cosmetidae.

First two pictures are of the male, third is of the male and female. These guys are bigger than a quarter when walking.

I feed them dead crickets and they come from Mexico. These were given to me by a friend and as far as I know they are the only live specimens in the U.S.

The ornaments on the 4th legs show mine as male. The male is the only one pictured alone. Your pictured specimen does not have the 4th leg ornaments, so it is female.

i recall there was a parge part in "life in the undregrowth" dicu about this creatures and it was about their mating/breeding.

It might be of your assistance to see this docu, which is quite cool anyway.

Good Luck!

Yes, it was about how the males make nests and the females come to lay eggs in them and leave the male to guard...while some females will destroy other female's eggs.

This particular species does not do that...it's a different family.

I didn't know that any of them did that at all! Do any of the Daddy Longlegs do this?
