I rescued this sexy little critter the other day and found a local rehabilitator who took it. I'm glad it's in good hands now :D

So what was wrong with it? Cut, shot, stabbed, run over, hungry, tired, hot, sweaty, home sick, too young, what ?

I don't think he'd be alive if he was shot...hehe, don't worry I know you were just going on...

He must've fallen out of the "nest", he was on the side of the road and I'm sure he would've gotten run over hadn't I taken him with me. He was still being breastfed and was very confused.

I was so happy to have saved him I could've cried looking at him. I couldn't handle the cuteness!

Yea,
It must have been hard to let it go.
I might of tried to raise it. I've heard they make pretty good pets.

Nice job saving it, your a good man..:)

I would've totally kept it as a pet...but I'm in college living in a dorm and rather busy...I woulnd't be able to give it the necessary attention, especially it being a youngin still...oh well...he's in good hands =)

It suprises me how tame squirrels can be. When we lived in VA, they would literally ride on the mailman's shoulder and they'd also come up and take things right out of your hands.

Pretty clever, too -- Anyone who has had problems with them getting into things they aren't supposed to would know (Like bird feeders)

We had a fenced in screen, inside of this screen we had a bag of peanuts we fed to squrriels. We had a squrriel chew through the screen and bust open the bag and start stealing peanuts.

Awesome little things.

It's just too cute! Wished the ones in the yard here were half as cute, but then they aren't babies either...

Not many things cuter than a baby squirrel. I had one spend an after noon in my pocket. It came up to me at a jobsite. I am guessing some crows chased it from it's nest. I had heavy leather gloves on and picked it up. It curled right up in my hand and went to sleep. I kept it in my pocket then put it in one of my t-shirts in the back of my truck. I then took it home and put it in a box outside with carrots and corn and some hamster food. Slept all night ate the food and took off the next morning. Cute tho..big fuzzy feet.

As a tree surgeon there are many times when we remove a tree and there is a nest of squirrels in it. I usually put the young under a bush or somewhere that has some sort of cover. If I spend to much time with them I get yelled but since I dislike my bosses I don't care I wish I could take better care of them. There has been times when I was told to run them through the woodchipper but I refuse.
