Curtain Grommets?

Howdy friends!

I've been looking into creating my own enclosures for jumping spiders and I've seen a lot of these setups that have mesh vent covers.

I'm assuming they're cutting a hole in the acrylic with a soldering iron or hole drill. Then using a mesh covering, but my question is, is it a curtain grommet that is being used to hold the mesh and round out the edges?

Any videos or DIY articles anyone could point me to in this style would be much appreciated!

A hole-saw bit is best IME.

Any appropriately sized grommet will work.

Something that sits more flush with the acrylic will look better. Those look kind of bulky and obtrusive.
