I have a 2"+ curly who has done something odd as of late.

Normally a big dirt mover, I've noticed it actually picking up, moving, and webbing dirt around the ventilation slits on the top of it's critter keeper.

You can see the enclosure on the left at my webcam (might not be up when you're reading this thread); if you look close, you can see the dirt stalagtites coming off the top-

Incase you wonder, that's my P. Irminia on the right.

Has anyone else witnessed behaviour like this? They're in an air conditioned apt at about 79 degrees, and I keep the cages misted regularly for humidity.

the only thing i can think of is that their is too much of an air flow. Ts have small lungs and breath slowly, too much air could harm them. (Think i read that in a book) If thats the problem, you curly is one smart T, the McGyver of Ts

Nifty.

May be an airflow thing. Or wanting more privacy. But I have that page sitting open and have been coming back and forth to my computer and watching the little bug.

Busy busy.

We have the Laziest T's!

They can't seem to be bothered with much construction. They wander a litle, use what I put in, stretch and groom and eat and look great.
But other then the cricket dance carpet that the terestrials put down. They don't do much of anything.

That little darling is doing Alot.

Thanks for setting the cam up.
I have a feeling I'll be peeking into it often to see what it's doing. lol.

The website isn't responding for me for some reason. Since
this post is relatively new, I thought I'd be able to see it. I guess I'll just have to try again later.

My Curly, which is a very fat-butted 5 1/2", seems to love (whatever "love" is to a tarantula) moving dirt, and packing it into the "doorway" in her clay pot, weaving web into it. I think it is a privacy thing.

It is certainly very interesting to watch her carrying wads of dirt, placing them, then turning around, packing it in with her legs and webbing it up. She has very talented spinnerettes, and it is fascinating to watch them work, like two nimble fingers.

I, for one, have never heard of 'too much air' LOL
there are alot of reasons it may be doing that, but it's hard to say why.
I have alot of Ts that love to carry their substrate around, and are constantly rearranging their enclosures.
It's alot of fun to watch them work!
