another Cupiennius male, this time a C. coccineus adult. Enjoy....

i also have 4 c.c but i think there are all females, can anyone help me with the sex? or is it like the other cuppineus? male: longer legs, not so great colours and the whole body... in a sort of orange or dark orange. the female: bigger, more colourful. etc. and of course the taster. is this right?

Hello Michael,

unfortunately i had only one single specimen of this species. Got it as a micro-sling and raised it till it got adult. So i´ve never seen any young-females of this species. Nevertheless i think they shouldn´t be too hard to sex. Would help if you could post some pics of your coccineus specimen, while i don´t think much about id íng of spiders by picture, i still think a guess of the sex might be possible...

ok, i will take some fotos, but i think i need a better camera with marco zoom ´ my c.c are about 1cm bodylength. so my old digi cam is to bad to shot good and detialid pictures.
i also think to say what sex they have, because of an pix is not realy good but by cuppieneus it is possbile, because they often have different colours etc. do you now anybody else who has some rare cuppieneus? not the 3 comom spiders.
