A new addition I picked up at the Kettering show this weekend from Grabowitz. Two for a tenner :)

Not as fast and nervy as I had expected - seemingly more observant than most tarantulas though :)

Hi Leon,

those photos are more like it! They are excellent, the background really suits the subject.

Thats made my mid up for me, i'm definitely going to have to get some at the BTS if there are any. Are they sexable at that age, and do you know if you have a pair?

Cheers,

Cheers gents, I took them in the Garden this evening with Kate holding up an old railway sleeper covered in algae. She doesn't trust them :p

I have to be honest, I wouldn't even know how to start when it comes to sexing them! Both are about 3.5" across.

I don't know about this species in particular, but we witnessed two Cupiennius sp. mating in Costa Rica and they were exceedingly dimorphic.

Cheers,
Dave

@ Skinheaddave

i think your picture show a mating couple of C. getazi. A breeder told me that that there two colour- forms, a darker brown and a brigther orange. Both of them you can find in one egg sack.
Greetings,
Sebastian :D

Cool mating pic Dave! They're next on my list.

Didn't realise these things jumped. I don't trust them so much now.
