Cuban tree frogs............

I know a guy who used to import them...............from Florida! :D There is not much to know about them, really. They do best at temps. of 78 to 85 degrees F., and a high humidity, though they are VERY tough, and can adapt to all kind of sub-optimal conditions. Just do not put any other species of frogs in with them...........there is a good chance they will eat them, if the other frog is small enough. I know of a couple of situations where this has happened; one was at a hotel in Florida, and the guy heard a "thunk" on his window, and he looked out, and saw a big Cuban treefrog eating a green tree frog it caught on the window! Another incident happened at a local pet shop, with the Cuban treefrogs eating all of the green treefrogs in the cage with them. This is one of the few treefrogs in nature that will eat other frogs, the White's treefrog (Litoria Caerulea) being another example. If you get more than one, try to make sure they are close enough in size, that one eating the other would be unlikely.

I hate these frogs. They are toxic and evil to boot. They are more veracious then pixie frogs and will eat anything housed with them-- including their own kind. They will even try to eat, and kill, things larger then them. They are a pest to wild life habitats and are currently invading the US due to a**hole owners who have released them into the wild when they got sick of them. This, and the wild pigs in Australia, are some of the short list of animals I condone killing on site if spotted in the wild. They are pushing too many native species to the brink of extinction to let live, and as much as it kills me to say this, they are too much of a liability and should be banned and eradicated in the US. Let Castro deal with them.

Perhaps you are mixing them up with some other type of frog, like a horned frog maybe? There is no way that a cuban tree frog is more voracious than a pixie frog!

No dude, I am not confused one bit. Just do a search on that frogs effect on wild populations in Florida... it's scary to say the least. And as far as the appetite and cannibalism, I've learned that through actual owners as well as through my research. I had one for a day until I figured out how much they suck and then I took him right back to the store. These guys are the African Killer Bee of the frog world.
