This chap couldn't quite distinguish between earth and sky after "waking" from its feigned death. It walked like this all the way back into the waiting enclosure.

Not too big; just the 2 C. variolosa & 5 C. verrucosus. I feed 'em root veggies & the occasional chunk 'o kibble.

Sadly, no. To my knowledge, no one has successfully bred either in captivity?

I've managed to break a little ground with the Asbolus verrucosus (formerly in genus Cryptoglossa. I have my first larva (probably more in the colony tank as well)! But I separated this first one out. I also saw two eggs laid on and stuck to the leg of one of the colony members.

Of course, I have to take this opporunity to share my video link for this species again:

I have three species in culture of the tribe Cryptoglossini (death feigning beetles).

Edit, the tribe is now Centriopterini.

Argghh! I just labeled the tank.

Bugs, where did you find the larvae? Just wondering if I should arrange the setup in a particular manner or add something to encourage egg laying?

Nice Vid(s). That species is very cute looking and active.

Eggs were attached to the leg of another beetle, apparently male. The eggs looked fresh and one was squished as I detached it from the leg. The other I buried in coconut fiber. A week or two later it was gone. It must have desiccated, though I thought I kept it reasonably moistened. A singular larva was found under the single rock in the tank (as seen in the video).
