Aegla sp. Argentina

Metasesarma aubryi

Geosesarma sp. vampire

Geosesarma sp. yellow eyes

Aegla arent true Crabs, they are Anomurans, in the same family as Hermit Crabs. They are completly aquatic, and need cool, well oxygenated water. They can be bred in captivity.

Both Geosesarma species can be bred in captivity, with no brackish or marine water, just a small freshwater area and a land area, they are mostly terrestrial. Like with Rainbow and Halloween Crabs, the Metasesarma young are planktonic, they cant be bred in captivity easily unfortunatly.

yeah, ive bred the vampire crabs, the baby crabs are tiny,

They are fairly easy to keep. I keep my ones in a 3ft glass tank, 1/3 water (a paint tray with a shallow and deep end, around 10cm at its deepest) 2/3 land, with sand substrate, and some pieces of bogwood and a plantpot for them to hide. They are heated, with a heatmat below the water area, underneath the tank, as its too shallow to use an aquarium heater, and also a heatmat at the back of the tank. The temperature is around 26c and very humid. They are fed lettuce, crab cuisine (pelleted food) vegetable pellets, and also aquarium fish flakes.

I bought a trio, but have lost two and am left with a lone male. I am told their is a very high mortality rate for new imports. :(

Both of these are also true freshwater. I only have one of the Oziothelphusa/Spiralothelphusa at the moment, but I should have more of them soon hopefully,

Hydrothelphusa sp. (possibly H. goudoti)

Oziothelphusa sp. (possibly O. ceylonensis) or Spiralothelphusa sp.
