Is there anything I can do to kill these without having to stick my fingers right in front of my H. Lividum's burrow?

they are no threat, when the crix hatch they'll either die or drown in the water dish.

Why not hatch them? More feeders for you, and less trips to the pet store!

I am afraid to retrieve them because they are literally like a welcome mat to the lividum's hole. And I don't want to get bit. ^ ^

Can you get a long spoon and scrape them up? Only other thing I could think of is letting them dry out but could be disastrous if the T is near a molt...

I don't think it's near molt right now. Abdomen is a healthy size and he ate like a pig today. At least two crickets. Maybe one yesterday? It's hard to tell.

I'll try to get it with a spoon. Ah! Gollum is a beast though. I've heard of cobalt blue's running up tongs before.

You could try and feed her first to have her preoccupied. IMO you'll be fine getting them with a spoon either way. Have fun!!:p

:p Scaredy cat!

I've had cricket eggs hatch mostly in my G. rosea and H. vonwirthi enclosures (underneath the water plates)... then I find them IN the water plates. When I had tiny slings, it works out really well!

Quick - get some tiny slings! LOL

I have some tiny slings! Perhaps I will spoon the eggs back into my cricket container and snag the baby crickets for my slings.

And you would be a scaredy cat too if you were allergic to spider venom and you had an H. Lividum jairi. ;)

I used to have the same problem occasionally and i managed to workaround it by cutting the adult female crickets ovipositor with a pair of scissors, before offering them to my Ts.

If you are looking to get rid of the tiny crickets, just put in an extra waterdish and they will all drown. Also, another keeper gave me excellent advice when I had this issue in my H. sp. "Vietnam" enclosure: place a small piece of egg crate in the enclosure. Leave it for 5-10 minutes, then remove, and most of the little monsters should come with it. Good luck :)

Throw in some smaller isopods (Pill Bugs, Wood Lice w/e they are called) They will eat the eggs, and are so small the lividum will probably ignore them, and they are no threat to your T.
