Just wanted ot know how anyone who has these geckos gives them water. do you prefer a shallow water dish or just misting the sides of the tank. truthfully all i have ever seen mine do is drink droplets from the sides.

also, has anyone had trouble feeding their geckos roach nymphs. I just tried feeding some hatchlings dubia nymphs and they seemed uninterested.

It is good to keep a clean water supply at all times. I have witnessed my crested using it several times. About the roaches I just use crickets so i cant help.

I have a VERY shallow water dish available, but I've only witnessed them drinking from droplets when I mist, that seems to work best for them. I mist in the late evening. I never tried roach nymphs.

I have used water bowls and I'm sure they drink from them but haven't seen it personally. I don't use bowls at the moment and just spray them.
I've been feeding my juvenile crested's B. lateralis and they love them. I just started feeding some adult B. dubia males to my adult cresteds. The adult males are perhaps a little big and I'm not crazy about the wings but they don't seem to present a problem. Last night I put some dubia nymphs in with my cresteds and they haven't touched them. Perhaps the adults were a bit much for them(?) and have turned them off. I'll try again in a few days.

My cresteds use their watering bowl pretty reliably. However, I think most of them get their water from the prepared diet I use.

One of my cresteds enjoys the annoying habit of crapping in his water dish just about every night. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanx for the advice.I am basically using a juice bottle top tilted on its side so there is enough water to drink but hopefully not to drown in.

I use deli cups (4 0z. size) for the crested geckos, my smaller snakes I use plastic bowls, and my red eyed tree frogs I use the plastic bowls for water dishes. not as nice looking as the reptile rock style water bowls but sure makes enclosure cleanup time much easier and faster, just toss the water containers in the trash or recycle bin and put in a fresh new bowl.

That's a pretty common thing with many herps. Another is defecating as soon as they are put in a clean cage.
