can somebody say MAINTAIN ACE of the cleaning type. You must have a truck load of debris in that saw to give them that good of a go.

Haha! I like to cut wood for the winter. I keep that chainsaw pretty clean. They nest under anything in that shed. Even the AMDRO! Ok, I confess, I've got amdro. I like bugs but the fire ants have to go! I lost allot of tennis shoes when I was around 10 and 11 at the creek when it flooded because of fire ants. When I was attacked, I just flipped the shoes off real fast and ran home. I don't like them at all:mad: . There was chain oil all over some newspaper I put on the bottom of that case. They were all in that too. The oil didn't seem to bother them.

Excuse me for not being familiar with chainsaw cases, but were they only in that part of the case? Or did they get inside even more? And do you know what type of ant they are: wood ant? fire ant? Anyway, that is a pretty neat picture!

Stop assuming that because it is red and black that is a fire ant sp. It's not even closely related. The species is Camponotus, im thinking floridus which is common in south east. Chances are you don't even have a full colony there, look through them for a larger ant with a box shaped thorax with wing scars, that would be the queen.
Don't put the ants with frogs, these ants spray formic acid which could blind ur frogs or in a large amount could poison the frogs.

Keep the colony, they are very interesting and will eat crickets and drink sugar water/syrup.
