My adult female B.vagans molted recently. Unfortunately she did a bit of burrowing before I could get a pic of her in all her glory. So, here's a couple of shots of a rather grubby tarantula. I hope you like them.

Back when I was a one rosehair kinda guy, I was watching a thing on Natl Geographic about tarantulas, and can honestly say, the Mexican Redrump, was the first tarantula to totally catch my eye, and make me realize that I needed more than my beautiful, yet simple rosehair.

I am also a fan of B. vagans, a great T. at a great price. Gotta love those T's you can get for under ten bucks.

Thanks for the comments. This is my favourite tarantula of my four. She's got dramatic looks, an insane appetite and an easy going temperament. Add to that the low purchase price and you have the perfect tarantula (as long as you're not alergic to urticating hairs).

I've noticed that my US keepers seem to have hybrid vagans with red hair on the legs. Mine appears to be pure vagans. Is this standard for the UK or did I get lucky? Anyone?

I've never measured her and I'm not too good at estimates, but I'd guess about four and a half to five inches when walking. She's not got the bulk of my B.smithi, but she's still an impressive size.
