Could this lone beetle lay eggs?

I had a stray meal worm turn into a darkling beetle. Before it was out of the pupa, I put it by itself. It emerged a tan color and I put it in my tank with millipedes. It burrowed into the soil and has just emerged after a couple days. Is it possible that it laid eggs? I really hope not. Would it need to have sex with another beetle while in beetle form for that to happen? I hope this is a stupid question

If it was never together with another beetle it won't lay eggs. I don't believe parthenogenesis has ever been documented in mealworms.

I'm just a bit curious, why did you put it in a tank with millipedes?

Well, it had been a mealworm in my gecko's tank. When I found it as a pupa it was spiky so I didn't want to feed that to my gecko just in case... so I put it in a container by itself. When it emerged as a beetle I kept it because:
-I love watching/observing different animals/insects go about their daily lives
-I love interspecies friendships
-I didn't want it to mate and create lots of mealworm/beetles in my area
-They eat the same stuff as millipedes and appreciate the same climate!
-Also I'd never seen one before it turned black and thought it was very cool. I held it and loved it.

Knowing they spend their adult like looking for a mate, though- I might take it to a farther away place to do that. I don't want to deprive it or cause it stress when something instinctual is unable to be met.
