Found this snake being given away on Craigslist. Original owner passed away and the boyfriend ? couldn't take care of it. Housed in EcoEarth and for a lack of better words was housed like s***. I mean no disrespect. It could of been worse. Just not by much. Yes there were some type of maggot or larvae infestation...

Wow, I'm surprised it didn't have scale rot from that rancid, sewage substrate.

Nice find/save.

The original owner kept it bone dry in coco fiber but when she passed away her bf (scared of snakes) poured water through the screen I believe and it got everywhere.

TL;DR: don't use coco fiber

The current setup after throwing away all the substrate and cleaning it out real good
The original cage was disgusting. Maggots were in the top corners pupating and there were at least 70-90 pupae poor snake

Those are not maggots, but appear to be some sort of moth caterpillar. They're most likely some sort of Casebearer Moth.

They are not harmful to other organisms, but will become a major pest in your closets as they eat organic fibers. They'll chew holes in both animal and plant-based cloths such as wool, silk, and cotton. I suspect they were feeding on the undigested rodent fur in the feces of the snake and possibly on the shed skins of the snake itself since the keratin in snakeskin would be just as palatable to them as keratin that makes up hair.

They are indeed some kind of casebearers, there is one in the second picture sitting on the substrate.

They are only dangerous if your corn is made of wool or silk.
Looks like he is ded :<
