Okay friends, I need some help.

I'm looking for cork board to use for my handful of bark scorpions (6). Cork BARK is great but it's not shaped easily and I need taller rectangular pieces to fit into tall deli containers or something similar which I will shape out myself with the board. I can't find any around here locally so I might buy some online. I just don't know if there's some things I need to look out for, such as thickness, rolls or tiles (preference) etc...

Is there some chemicals that I should look at for that some brands have in theirs?

Is cork board as resistant to mold as cark bark?

Thanks for any help!

Now, for the morality question: I don't have a lot of room and may have to keep some of my scorpions in smaller containers. I can't decide for myself whether or not this is considered cruel. For my two tiny C. hentzi I'm not concerned about keeping them in separate 32oz deli cups (could I keep them together in one deli cup?). But for my two B. jacksoni, C. limbatus and C. gracilis will this not due? Right now my Centruroides scorpions are in 4oz deli cups and they're tiny but they spend all their time on the cork bark, usually hunched up when they're full or out on top of it in a stance that says "Any, minute now, any minute and something will crawl along and BANG, dinner." They seem fine. My H. spinigeruses are always trying to escape so I imagine that these guys would be doing the same if they didn't feel comfortable. Thanks again!

I've been using pieces of Oak that I have split myself and this has worked quite well. The rough surface makes it easy for them to climb on and since I'm cutting the source pieces from downed trees in my own woods I can cut them any size I please.

That's pretty cool!

Unfortunately, I live in a town house community and don't have an ax or any oak trees to cut down. But thanks!

Zoo Med makes Cork Tiles. They are intended to be used as terrarium backgrounds, though you can buy a 12" x 12" tile and cut it down to whatever sized pieces you want.

Thanks, I'll look into that.

They look great! We use those for the hermit crabs. We have them at work, I'll check them out. I'll also get my discount :D. I'm more interested in easily breakable cork board material though. Although. I'm sure I'd be able to break appropriately sized pieces from that and they look nicer.

Try a Home Depot or similar - you may find cork flooring boards for bathrooms etc pretty cheap

As long as the scorpions have adequate space to move about, and have proper captive conditions, they should be fine.
