I just caught this way cool wasp in my house. I think it was starving because it could barely move but after feeding it some honey it has perked up. I have some pics. So whats is it? How do you breed it? Is it solitary?

I am in MN BTW

Could it be a mud dauber? If so I thought they eat spiders and caterpillars?

generally with wasps its their grubs that eat protein, bugs etc whilst adults concume nectar(in the wild) the quickly substitute this for sugary drinks

Looks more like some sort of spider wasp
Then its life is now forefit. I do not tolerate thing preying on spiders in my presence however I will let it live out its natural life under my care. Well treated but unable to catch spiders.

Family Pompillidae, spiders wasps, feed the spiders they capture to their young. The adults eat nectar, so sugar water or gatorade on a cotton swab or ball will suffice to keep it alive and well fed.

They are abundant by me, but I never really knew what species they were. There are alot of house spiders in my garage so I guess they are eating them?

Hey if I caught another one and tried to raise it do you think they will take out crickets instead of spiders? Raising one would be kinda cool.

Nope, Pompillids will not feed their larvae crickets. Sphecids will if you find one of those, cicada killers are in that family as well. Pompillids are definetly known to be shiny, you should see the huge tropical ones! As for 4 wings, yes, almost all winged insects have 4 wings, except for Dipterans (2 halteres) Coleopterans (2 elytra) and Strepsipterans (males have 2 haltere like things where the front wings should be, females have no wings). Of course I'm sure there are exceptions to this that I am forgetting.....
