Cool plume moth!

I have always found moths more interesting than butterflies, and these especially fascinate me!

Seen on the outside of the window one night:




and still there the following morning!

Always baffled me how they manage to stay aloft with such tiny wings!
Another thing that loves moths id the araneus diadematus living in my kitchen :p

Oh I get tons of them in the garden, always females strangely!

I get Zygiella x notata and Nuctenea umbratica in our house, lots of!

I see them alot in my backyard, I never knew what they were, I always thought they were related to the crane fly, didnt know they were moths.

I'm going to look up info on them now, thanks for the id.

Look out in particular for the White Plume Moth,( Pterophorus pentadactyla.)
Often seen on summer evenings it would seem this ghostly moth would be unable to fly; its wings are so insignificant!

I've never seen the white plume moth, but I see from it how they got their name.
