I hate to ask a stupid question, but I couldn't find anyone else asking this. Should I move my tarantula when my husband is cooking? I noticed just now when he was cooking indian food, my little buddy came out from her hiding spot and is crawling around a lot. Could the spices and fumes be harmful to them?

Thank you. It was burning my eyes, so I wondered if its burning my eyes... is it burning her eyes or worse? I'll still just move her to the bedroom just in case, but your reply gives me reassurance no harm was done.

Unlikely- but anything is possible, just not probable

Unless he's setting fire to whatever he's cooking along with the entire kitchen and any adjacent rooms then I seriously doubt it's gonna cause any issues

To be fair, if the fumes can act as insecticide I will have second thoughts about eating whatever dish it is.

Well, you did not say what species you have.
If its a "spicy" tarantula then i think it would be fine with the spicy, eye burning food fumes.:hot:

But seriously I think you were smart to remove the T. The fact is we really don't know what impact such fumes can do. Likely a single brief exposure not much if at all, but that is just a guess.

How did you do with the spicy food? Just curious.
