Hey guys
Can anyone tell me what this "spider" is?! Been seeing over last fortnight a hell of a lot of these around my house. My confusion is since when was six legged spiders a thing? Thought they all had eight. Ppls keep telling me it's just injured, but that would make the dozen or so I've seen either an incredibly unlucky clutch or just some really accident prone spiders. adult males can't regenerate lost legs because they are done molting and their only goal is to find a mate before they die

being on the move is much more dangerous than sitting in your web castle

Really!? Wow, never knew that, cheers👍.
Thought Arachnids only had eight legs and crabs along with all their other creepy rellies had six? So does that mean spiders and crabs etc are related?

It looks like it's missing its third left leg and fourth right leg. If you zoom in you can see where they've detached.

Cheers mate 👍😁
Did look for webs around the house to see if any were hanging around them and couldn't find any. However, every single spider that I found/ saw ALL had six legs. They were def all different spiders as some were same size as the little dude in pic and a cpl were enormous. So they were all males then?

can't be certain but most likely, this one certainly is
you can tell it is a sexually mature male if the pedipalps look a little like they have boxing gloves on them

Yeah I know, it's what I originally thought too cause I saw the little stumpy things on its left side. But seriously, ALL the other spiders that look like that dude of varying sizes each had six legs, that's what's confusing the crap outta me. What species is it? Is it that territorial that all the blokes just kick the shit outta each other? Or dropping limbs is a defense mech like that cool little lizard?

Both the REALLY BIG guys (easily as big or larger then the biggest huntsman's you find, guy in pic only slightly bigger than a 10c piece) that scared the crap out of me darting out from my indoor plants water saucer up the wall had small tiny to non existent gloves on, only the little dudes had bulky boxing gloves. Does that make the little dudes male and 'The Rock' size variant of them girls?

I'm not familiar with Australian species so I can't say for sure, but all the spiders having just six legs sounds improbable to me.
I'd take some pictures and zoom in to look for where the legs attach to the body.

And males are usually smaller than females in many (but not all) species of spiders.

Mature males tend to lose legs since they are wandering around looking for females.
