Common Boa Care?

ok just got two baby boas, bro and sis, of my best friends seeing as they have 5 boas already, 2 chinchillas,a puppy, 4 spiders and did have two rats but ive got them too now.

anyway they are being kept in a tank, with a light, a heat matt on one side,with newspaper as flooring as a water dish.

just asking what else can i give them or should? should they have a hide? something to climb on? and is the newspaper ok for the flooring?

They should be kept seperately. Hides are a good idea, helps make them feel more secure... and generally, if you provide it, they will climb on it. At least until they get too big and they pull down everything they try to climb on like my big guy.

they only babies and at mo i cant afford another tank, they seem very social, why cant they be kept together?

Because they aren't social... the only reason they seem to 'huddle' together is competing for good spots to curl up. Competition leads to stress. In the wild snakes rarely come into contact with each other, except to breed (and some species, to hibernate). Boas I've found seem to tolerate a cage mate better than other species, but still - I have found it much better to seperate them. Regardless, they must be seperated when it comes to feeding day. You don't want them both to grab the same food item... or worse, one snake still smells like rodent after being fed and the other decides that smell is too irresistable. It happens, trust me.
