I have what I thought was an A. Seemanni that I bought from a petstore who didn't know for sure what it is. It made a deep burrow in its subtrate, and is extremely fast, skittish, and defensive. She will leg-strike anything that I poke into her burrow, and rear up and show fangs, as well as flip onto her back when she gets really mad (very much like my H. Lividum).

She molted a day or so again, and is now a solid BLUE. She looked exactly like a textbook Seemanni before this molt... salmon-colored bottom and everything. I'm thinking that this might not be a Seemanni since they aren't supposed to turn dark blue! Do H. Lividum's change color like this?

All I can see is her underside and theres no stripes there. This is a fresh molt so I'll give it a few days.

With the seemani there are different color variations. We also had a seemani that was very dull looking. When she molted out she was a very pretty blue. They can be black or blue. We were like you in thinking we had something different, so I asked here and this is what the pro's told me. Hope this helps, Pam
