I am doing an event tomorrow at my school that involves racing hissers. I am trying to mark them but I am having no luck. I have tried stickers but they won't stick. I don't want to put anything on them that will harm them so any suggestions will be great.

Cool idea! I wonder if you could make something in the kitchen. Food coloring and flour or something that will dry but wash back off when wet???

How about a water based paint made for kids that is non toxic? Just a dot of different colors would work.

Maybe a little tiny wad of glue from a glue stick, you know a little ball with a piece of paper stuck to it. Again non toxic for the kids.

Just some thoughts.

Try tying a piece of thread around them(should slide in like a harness between 1st and 3rd legs). Then maybe attach a tag or use different colored string. If done well they should stay on for a few days at the least until the roaches have time to pull them off.

I'd bet paint would work and that would be less of a bother than this...but I tried it out of curiosity and it worked.
