I want to look for larvae of the clouded skipper on johnson grass. Could somebody in Dallas or Ellis County, Texas help me out here?

Well I see them all the time in Arlington if you're willing to venture into Tarrant county. I'll keep an eye out.

I don't drive but I would appreciate it if you would keep an eye out. I've been wanting to rear skippers for quite some time. I already have plenty of experience in raising tawny and hackberry emperors.

No problem. If we see anymore I'll grab them for ya. I sometimes see them in my front yard when it cools down in the evening.

Need my address so you can ship them to me? or is it illegal to ship butterfly larvae?

don't know if it's legal or not. If you live in Dallas county and are close enough to Arlington I could possibly just drive. I'll wait to see if I can find anymore before I start collecting addresses. {D

I'm not sure it's good idea to give you my address since I don't know you. I want to be on the safe side.

Ahhh, I think she's cool enough, maybe get phone number and meet somewhere. I found a lot of Skipper caterpillars on Padre Island some years back. I didn't know what they were at the time. I took them home and they turned into Skippers, they were feeding on a tropical plant. If you want I could try to get some again, I plan on going there in August, I might miss the Skipper caterpillar season though, that's later than I usually go.

Oh, just read that you don't drive.
