here is the story, you just have to know this is my first praying mantis and that my mantis molted about 3 weeks ago...
last wednesday i gave her a cricket, but the cricket was weird was not climbing the false leaves so the mantis couldnt get it. so 1 or 2 days later i removed it, and wait 1 day and put another one...that one too stayed another 1 or 2 day, so that brings us to yesterday night. so i say to myself:"maybe it s in pre-molt again? it just molted, thats weird..". So before getting ready to go to bed i decided to remove the crick ..so at around 9pm i open the lid, the mantis is usually hanging from the small screen square from the lid, but it felt at the bottom, it started moving but couldnt make it back on to the false leave or even walking after tilting the recipient. then i realized it is in pre-molt, but not pre-pre-molt, pre-molt like maybe 1 or 2 hours before molt, she ACTUALY was in molting position and couldnt go back!!!! =(((
what i did is remove that darn crickect, took the time to crush his head (i know its wrong but couldnt help it) i put the lid over the mantis, and took each leg and carefully hooked it to the lid, put the lid back and took a deep breath. i went to bed reading till 10h30pm, before sleeping i went to look my mantis and...IT WAS 95% DONE MOLTING!!!! i was like omg!!!
this happened because of 2 things:
i dont have enough experience with mantis
and, thank god,
i do have a little bit of experience with spiders....
