I too an opportunity to redo the Green Tree Python enclosure. I changed the peat substrate, cleaned misting nozzles and water line out, added new moss , cleaned bark, addes new flora and greens.

I absolutly love these snakes! There is a male and female in this enclosure with no problems for a long time now. I just take caution during feeding times.
They have locked up several times but nothing has come of it just yet. Maybe someday. I have climated the room recently so we'll see what happens when the temps got bumped up a bit recently.

Here's some pics....

Nice looking tank Chris! Afew months ago I set-up a Neodesha with Cypress Mulch in the bottom and plastic plants on the side and ended up getting about a billion mites to go along with the mulch. So its back to the plain ole' paper towel, no more pretty looking cages for me.

Morax, they have a reputation that precedes them. Not all are down right nasty but most are lets say tempermental, espeacially at night. I have one adult female Aru thats a sweety once I get her out with a hook. Aru's are known for being more placid, Biaks on the other hand are known for being fiesty little sob's. They make rewarding captives but make sure you do your research first, 'The More Complete Chondro' by Greg Maxwell is the GTP Bible to a lot of GTP keepers.

We have six green trees and they are all very sweet and gentle. We don't handle them at night, however, because they go into "hunting mode". During the day we just reach in, pull them off their branches and hold them. They usually look around a little, then fall asleep in our arms. Very endearing!

I have heard there are some nasty tempered ones, mainly Biaks. Just talk to the breeder about the GTP's personality before buying. And buy captive bred.

Beautiful setup! However, with all of the shady hiding spots, be sure to monitor temps to make sure your GTPs are warm enough, or they may stop eating.

there is a heat mat on bottom of tank to help dry the water out of the peat. This also increase humidity.

There is a huge heat panel on top of tank that is controlled by the thermostat at 82 degrees.
