Hey guys

This Question might have been posted previously so please excuse me if it is.

I live in a small apartment and as a result i don't use any bug sprays or chemicals however as yet another result the mosquitoes are chewing me up like mad, basically what i need to know is: would it be safe to use a citronella candle during the night time when i go to bed.

thanks

Good question. I don't know the answer to it though! May I add to this?

Are oil-burning incenses ok for tarantulas? The one I have puts off a lot of smoke (at first). I never thought of this before.... Could certain scents be harmful?

Citronella is a natural insect repellent. Probably not a good thing to subject a tarantula to. Probably would not kill it - but it would definitely bother it. And over time might stress it enough to have harmful effects.

You might be able to more safely (and effectively) control mosquitos with the careful use of screens and mosquito netting.

By the way - spraying insecticides will not control mosquitos unless you spray them into the water they breed in or spray it on the mosquitos themselves. Spraying into the air is a waste - the fumes blow away or settle out and the mosquitos return. If you have mosquitos in your house and you want to knock them out of the air - use a spray bottle with a mild solution of dish detergent in it. Mist the mosquito and the wings will stick together and the insect falls out of the air.

As for the incense... i'd say don't burn it in the room you keep your T(s) in!

I don't know how it would affect them but why risk it?

Now this seems of a more substantial answer, i would be keen on your proving of this method, thanks a lot for that :worship:
